Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
On the South side of Sta. Rita Hills, west of the Santa Rosa Road. This vineyard lies at the top of hill slope overlooking the entire valley. This was a drought year which reduced production and limited vigor. This results in more concentrated, smaller berries. Normal production in this vineyard is about 2-3 tons per acre while in 2014 it was closer to 1.5-2 tons per acre.
Production Notes
Hand sorted, the grapes were immediately crushed and de-stemmed. An extensive cold soak was used for extraction and color stabilization. After press, the wine was placed into French Oak at a 34% New Oak level and aged for 32 months.
Winemaker Notes
This is from a very select Pinot Noir vineyard in a cool, elevated bluff at the top of the Sta. Rita Hills. This is the first Natalie Grace Wines venture and is selected for its ultra-premium quality. This was from 100% Pinot Noir Clone 777 which is know for its intensity and concentration.
Limited production with less than 125 cases.
